Earlier today we shared the news that Rohit Shetty and the team of Sooryavanshi have begun shooting the film today. Now we got to know that actress Neena Gupta has joined the cast Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in this film.
Neena who was last seen playing an unconventional role in Badhaai Ho is all set to play Akshay’s mom in the film. FYI: Gupta is just 8 years older to Kumar.
Talking about her role in Sooryavanshi, Neena Gupta told a leading daily,
”This is an interesting role because it isn’t the stereotypical mother who asks his son about food, marriage, etc., but has several dimensions. There is a new temperament to the mother, and you will get to see a very different dynamic between Akshay, Katrina and me. This is a new, sweet and interesting space that I am looking to explore. I am happy that more people will get to see my work. Rohit has made some amazing films which have been appreciated by the audience”.
Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Films and Rohit Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Picturez. It stars Akshay Kumar as ATD chief – Veer Sooryavanshi and Katrina Kaif as his love interest. The film went on floors today and is set to release during EID 2020.
According to reports, the cast will shoot in Mumbai, Thailand, Bangkok and Hyderabad as well as Rohit Shetty’s favourite location, Goa.
