Hansal Mehta’s movie Omerta is a crime drama which stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, British terrorist of Pakistani descent. The movie has finally been cleared by the CBFC with an ‘A’ certificate.
The Director did not want even a single cut in the movie. However, one major change has been ordered by the censor board to remove a scene from the movie. It is the sequence scene wherein Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh (Rajkummar Rao) will be viewed urinating in prison while the Indian National Anthem is playing outside.
Our info says, producer Furquan Khan said that they have been asked to remove the Nation Anthem from that sequence and replace it with routine background music. They happily complied and walked away with an ‘A’ certificate which the film deserves.
Earlier Omerta was planned to be released on April 20 but now the new release date has been given to the film. The movie now releases on 4th May where it will clash with Umesh Shukla’s ‘102 Not Out’ which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor.
