Feature Name: Dhadak
Director: Shashank Khaitan
Cast: Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Ashutosh Rana, Kharaj Mukherjee, Aishwarya Narkar
Duration: 2 hours 18 mins
With all its strength and weaknesses, Dhadak attempts to recreate the charms of “Sairat” that wooed us all back in 2016, but it did not live up to our expectation and will remain a failed attempt. The movie has its good parts and bad ones, majorly we’re highly impressed by Ishaan Khatter’s performance as Madhu in this one.
Jhanvi and Ishaan’s chemistry did make remember the first time we fell in love back in our teenage years, but the storytelling quite spoiled the entire vibe of the film. A muddled screenplay, the missing rawness of the characters, and the feels that hit the audiences in the gut are what was missing from this.

The supporting cast did a great job in terms of keeping the movie up and not too dull, the pace is very bland and flatlined. The first half is all cute moments with the lead falling in love, the second is more intense yet unconvincing.
Overall, Shashank Khaitan did not bring Dhadak up to our expectations, as his previous works (Badrinath Ki Dulhania & Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania) were quite a masterpiece in the genre of romance.
We give it 2.5 buzzing bees.
