Ewan McGregor, who is known for his role as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars franchise, is all set to play the grown up and sensible Christopher Robin in the film by the same name releasing on 10th August.
Christopher Robin, who played with Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, has grown into a sensible man. But his job has taken all his time leaving none for his family. Pooh magically appears in Christopher Robin’s home in London. And together they set out on an adventure that reminds Christopher Robin what the most important thing in his life is.
When asked his inspiration of doing ‘Nothing’ from Winnie the pooh, he says:
“I’ve got a teddy bear Pooh from the shoot. I was so fond of him. I spent four months looking at his little eyes. I asked them, quietly, if they would make me one. This year, I have been off. (“Christopher Robin” finished shooting last November.) It was a decision not to work. I spent so much time away, always on the road or back home knowing I’m away again soon.”
These are words Winnie the Pooh lives by: “Doing nothing often leads to the very best something.”
While Ewan doesn’t adhere to it, he opines:
“I’m traditionally not very good at” sticking to that, the Scottish actor says. “But I’ve realized that it’s important to get a better balance and not work so much.”
When quizzed about his typical day off, he says:
“(On Sunday), I worked on an old car, took the car for a drive, came back, put up a swing. I didn’t go anywhere really. I call it “bimbling,” when you don’t have an appointment to make. There were a few things I was supposed to read and didn’t.”
A heartwarming live-action adventure, “Christopher Robin” is directed by Golden Globe nominee Marc Forster and stars Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Golden Globe nominee Hayley Atwell as his wife, Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter, Madeline; and Emmy winner Mark Gatiss as Giles Winslow, Robin’s boss. The film also features the voices of Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, three-time Emmy winner Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Golden Globe nominee Toby Jones as Owl, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Oscar® winner Peter Capaldi as Rabbit and Oscar nominee and Tony Award® winner Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
Disney’s Christopher Robin releases on 10th August 2018 in India.
