Revealed: Kangana Ranaut is Julia in Rangoon!
Kangana Ranaut will next be seen opposite Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon . It is a known fact that the movie is set in the 1940s and sources have revealed the actress is going to be playing the role of a poster girl!
Rangoon in other words is a blend of Moulin Rouge & Saving Private Ryan and is set in the backdrop of the second World War. Kangana’s character is inspired by Fearless Nadia – who donned the role of Huntervali!
Last year while the film was being shot, Kangana Ranaut was spotted at a studio looking sexy in a black outfit, wielding a whip and sporting a Marilyn Monroe-like haircut.
A close source revealed, “Julia is not Fearless Nadia but is a ’40s diva in her own right who came into films via theatre and as was the convention at the time, went to the front to entertain soldiers fighting the war. That’s where Julia who is in love with a producer, played by Saif Ali Khan, meets Shahid Kapoor’s character and loses her heart, bringing grit, glamour and romance into this intense war drama.”
On being asked about the film, the Queen star was all praises for Vishal saying, “He’s an amazing director, writer, composer and person. My Julia is beautiful, intense and funny. The film has three heroes.”
