A follow-up to the 2008 film, Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is essentially about Sophie Sheridan’s (Amanda Seyfried) love for her now-deceased mother Donna (Meryl Streep). The film also explores the lives of the mother & daughter, their dreams, relationships & more. The ABBA songs are nice & the funny scenes and dialogues work wonderfully. But the film suffers because of its poor script & story. Baranski & Julie Walters act wonderfully.
Not completely unwatchable, the film works in bits & pieces but fails as a whole. We give it 2.5 buzzing bees.
