In another heartbreaking turn of events, an artist who has given us some of the most memorable movies in the history of cinema was attacked for using his freedom of expression.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. The film is an historical drama based on the story of Queen Padmini, who famously refused to submit to emperor Alauddin Khilji when he arrived at the Chittorgarh fort with his army and killed herself along with scores of other women before he could storm the fort.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team were set to shoot for the film in the Pink city of India, Jaipur and an angry crowd of protesters were spotted on the sets. They slapped the director and assaulted him because they did not agree with the way the movie would portray the characters. Narayan Singh, a group leader said, “We had warned the filmmaker against presenting wrong facts. When we came to know about the shooting, we gathered there and protested.”
Is this what we have come to as humans? Is violence the only option left with these self-proclaimed leaders of political parties? Bollywood came out in full support with their tweets to protest against the cruelty, stupidity and inhumanity of these leaders. Take a look –
Disturbed and saddened at what happened to #SanjayLeelaBhansali . Inaction will only embolden others….and that's Anarchy.

Thus there can never b one objective historical account esp for events that have no eye witness accounts. Eg. #Padmavati #khilji story 3/3 https://t.co/yhdvgBM3fo
