Sonakshi Sinha, who debuted with Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, is all set for the release of her next, Khandaani Shafakhana. While the actress is busy with certain projects, a leading daily has reported that Sonakshi had a strong chance of being part of a biopic on the life of Paralympic Champion Deepa Malik.
Sports biopics have been doing well at the box-office in recent times. A couple of sports biopics have been lined and the biopic on Deepa Malik is one of them. For those who do not know, Deepa Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games. She also won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Deepa has also won 54 national gold medals and 13 in swimming, shot put and javelin throw and is a pride for the country. Malik has also been honoured with the Arjuna award.
Regarding the same, Sonakshi said,
“It’s all speculation right now. I am not the kind of person who would talk about a film until I’ve signed on the dotted line. People can speculate what they want but when my films have to be announced, the right people will do it.”
When asked if she was interested in a biopic, Ms. Sinha replied,
“I’d be interested in doing a good story, something which challenges me and has a great role for me.”
In 2016, Sonakshi had met Deepa Malik at an awards show and they both took to social media talking about it.
Deepa Malik had tweeted about the event:
“Sonakshi Sinha it sure was a fan moment. Great receiving the award from the Bindaas girl. Blessings and success is wished today and always.”
