Rakhee Gulzar, who has amazed the audience in the 1970s movies like ‘Sharmilee’, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, and ‘Paroma’ is all set to come back on the screen and this time in a Bengali-Hindi bilingual film. This movie will be directed by Gautam Haidar.
According to the information we have, the actress says that she has said no to any acting offer no matter how tempting it is. But when the director told her that he was doing a screen adaption of Moti Nandy’s classic novel Bijolibalar Mukti, she agreed to make an exception this time. Rakheeji has turned down many offers in the recent years before giving a nod to this movie.
Though this movie was originally made in Bengali and now the filmmaker thinks that its Hindi version would be amazing. Rakheeji feels that it is a very topical subject and touches on communal and cast issues and also the rights and privileges of a 70-year-old Brahmin widow. They have already shot the movie in Bengali but now on director’s request, the movie is being dubbed in Hindi as well.
The Hindi dubbing of the movie will start at the end of the month. The movie will be named ‘Mukti’ in Bengali and ‘Nirvaan’ in Hindi.
