Vicky Kaushal is on a spree of doing on patriotic film one after another. After his last release, URI: The Surgical Strike, he will soon feature in Sardar Udham Singh (2020) and Sam. Sam is a biopic on Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw and for this, he will be reuniting with Meghna Gulzar.
Sam Manekshaw was the chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The Marshall’s career spanned four decades and five wars.

Vicky mentioned that he is not only excited but also honored to be playing such a role. He feels it’s a big responsibility to play such a character. He believes Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw is a great legend that the country has produced.
The film would go on floors in 2021. The actor also mentions that although he didn’t get the opportunity to witness the greatness and achievements of the Marshall, his parents would tell him all about how he was a fearless, bold and competent leader.
Sam will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala, written by Bhavani Iyer of Raazi and Shantanu Srivastava of Badhaai Ho.
