12 Strong is the story of Captain Mitch Nelson played by Chris Hemsworth and his team of soldiers, who head into an almost impossible mission in Afghanistan to stop the Taliban from breaking the Northern Alliance post the 9/11 attacks.
Directed by first-time filmmaker Nicolai Fuglsig, the film doesn’t offer anything new but it does tick all the clichés of a war drama right from leaving the families behind for duty to emerging victorious from an almost impossible to win fight it covers it all.
The movie has less but funny dialogues, good direction, a background score that blends well with high voltage action and a good chemistry between the characters who also provide some really noteworthy performances.
All in all, 12 Strong is a good war drama with all the clichéd aspects but has nothing new to offer.
