Ashutosh Gowariker has already begun work on his upcoming historical drama – Panipat. The director, who has helmed films like Lagaan, Swades, and Jodhaa Akbar, is known to put a dream team together for all his projects, that helps him smoothly transcend his creative vision to the celluloid.
So, after roping in National award-winning art director – Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who had re-created the Agra Fort in Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, Ashutosh has roped in National award-winning costume designer Neeta Lulla for the action-packed period drama Panipat.
Ashutosh will be reuniting with her after the super-hit Jodhaa Akbar, and we all know what visual magic the collaboration of these two creative geniuses had created in that period drama. In fact, Neeta Lulla had received the National award for designing the royal costumes of Jodhaa Akbar.
Speaking about the association, an excited Neeta Lulla said:
“I am thrilled to collaborate with Ashu yet again. While it is always great to work with an old friend, Panipat is also an exciting project for me. I love working on period dramas, and I am very happy to be working on a challenging project such as this I thank Ashu and Sunita for giving me this opportunity.”
Featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles, Panipat is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on 14 January 1761 at Panipat.
The high-octane action period drama is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company – Vision World. The film is poised to release on December 6, 2019.
