Recently, there were rumours that the Mubarakan star Arjun Kapoor was to play the lead role in Arjun Reddy’s Hindi remake.
But as it turns out Arjun is not anymore the lead in Arjun Reddy. He has been replaced by the Padmaavat actor, Shahid Kapoor.
Shahid Kapoor had already given a nod to the makers for this project way earlier. Producers Murad Khetani and Ashwin Warde have bought the rights to the Hindi remake, which will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who has even directed the original.
Arjun Reddy, that tells the tale of an alcoholic, featured Vijay Deverakonda in the original. The female lead was played by Shalini Pandey.
The leading lady in the Hindi remake is yet to be finalized. Besides this Shahid is currently busy with Batti Gul Meter Chalu opposite Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam.
