The much-awaited trailer of the Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu & Angad Bedi starrer Soorma was launched today. Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is the true story of the hockey legend Sandeep Singh aka Flicker Singh
At the launch When Shaad Ali, the director was asked as to what inspired him to pick up this subject for the movie, he said,
“Both the man Sandeep Singh and the story inspired us to make the film. We were embarrassed and ashamed that not many people knew about his story. It was an enriching experience.”
And When Diljit was asked about his experience and what made him say yes to the film, he said,
“When I was offered the film first, I thought I will never be able to do it. I have never played any sport, leave alone hockey.”
Shocking Right?
“It was Sneha Rajani ma’am and Chitrangda ma’am who got me on board and it was their conviction that I decided to do Soorma”, he added.
