Nandita Das’ Manto has been getting rave reviews from people who have seen the film. One of the most talked about fact from the film is the guest appearances from many actors like Divya Dutta, Ranvir Shorey, Gurdaas Maan, Paresh Rawal, and Rishi Kapoor to name a few.
For Manto’s most controversial story titled Thanda Gosht, Nandita approached Divya Dutta knowing her caliber as an actress and Divya immediately agreed.
Ongoing bold for the film, when asked if there was any apprehension, Divya says, “I had read Thanda Gosht hence knew the story but Nandita being the one behind the camera helped a great deal. I am happy that I did the film and contributed in small little way.”
Manto starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role is slated to release on 21st September.
