Based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James R. Hansen, First Man is about Neil A. Armstrong’s (Ryan Gosling) journey to the moon and what all he had to go through for it. The film never goes overboard and seems very real. In some scenes, you feel you’re actually a part of the mission. However, the film is inconsistent and seems very long. Even the climax is underwhelming. Ryan Gosling is fantastic as he delivers a very restrained performance. We give the film 2.5 buzzing bees.
