We are in a time where content is appreciated more than star power. And it’s a bonus when this content we love it on the click of our fingers. Web series is the ‘IT’ of today as the craze for them is more than that of movies.
While there is no doubt that series OTT platforms like Netflix have amazing content – Indian shows too are at par now. A lot of amazing Hindi series have been introduced in varied platforms that are fun and exciting to watch.
2018 saw a number of amazing desi series like Mirzapur, Sacred Games, Breathe and Inside Edge. 2019 too looks like a hell of a year with these content-driven series.
Here’s a list of some 2019 web series – made in India – that you should binge watch.
1. Made In Heaven: (Amazon Prime)
This series chronicles the lives of two Delhi based wedding planners – Tara and Karan – who run an agency, Made in Heaven. The series focuses on the problem faced in organizing a big fat Indian wedding and much more.
The series stars Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, and Shivani Raghuvanshi. Made In Heaven premiered from March 8 on Amazon Prime.
2. ABHAY: (ZEE5)
Inspired by true events, ABHAY is a crime thriller that revolves around Abhay Pratap Singh. Abhay is a sharp investigating officer with the mind of a criminal, who can go to any extent to solve a case. Each episode has a new case that Abhay has to solve.
ABHAY stars Kunal Kemmu and Elnaaz Norouzi and premiered on February 7 on ZEE5.
3. Four More Shots Please: (Amazon Prime)
Four More Shots Please is all about the lives of four female friends who come from different walks of life. The series deals with romance, work-life conflicts, ambitions, and anxieties in modern-day India.
Four More Shots Please premiered from 25th January 2019 on Amazon Prime. It stars Sayani Gupta, Gurbani Judge, Kirti Kulhari, Maanvi Gagroo, and others.
4. The Final Call: (ZEE5)
The Final Call is based on Priya Kumar‘s 2015 novel ‘I Will Go With You: The Flight of a Lifetime‘. The series centers around the passengers of a flight whose lives are endangered when the captain decides to commit suicide while on board.
The Final Call features Arjun Rampal, Neeraj Kabi, Sakshi Tanwar, Anupriya Goenka, Jaaved Jaffrei, and Pradeep Rawat. It premiered on ZEE5 on February 22.
5. Parchhayee: (ZEE5)
Parchhayee is a horror series telling the bone-chilling tales of celebrated author Ruskin Bond. Each episode has a different horror story.
Parchhayee premiered from 15th January only on ZEE5.
