Old, classic and hit Bollywood films are being remade in the Hindi film industry for some time now. While Hindi films are being remade, remakes South Indian films too are on the rise. The latest South Indian film to be made in Bollywood was Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The record breaking film was a remake of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy. Now, another South film, Vijay Deverakonda starrer Dear Comrade, is being adapted in Hindi.
If sources are right, Karan Johar spent around Rs 6 crore to acquire the rights to remake Dear Comrade in Hindi.

It was said that Vijay himself would reprise the lead role, however, the actor politely declined it as he did not wish to play the same character on the screen again.
Then speculations were rift that KJo offered the lead role to Shahid Kapoor. Latest reports suggest that Shahid does not want to be a part of this remake. In fact, he does not want to feature in another remake of the same actor he has done before.
Dear Comrade is a love story and stars Vijay Deverkonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
