Deepika Padukone created a name for herself since her debut performance in Om Shanti Om. The actress was currently busy shooting in London. She will be sharing screen space with hubby Ranveer Singh in ’83.
Recently in an interview, Deepika Padukone spoke about her journey in the industry so far. She said:
“I had no training, no mentors. I worked it all out on my own. Sure, I had some failures, personal and professional. But sheer determination fuelled me. It was empowering.”
She added:
“As a family, we saw maybe two films a year. I don’t know why, but whenever I watched a movie, I knew that one day I’d be doing this. I’d start with modeling and then go into films. And that’s exactly how it happened.”
Everyone has their own way of dealing with stardom and this is how Deepika has dealt with it.
She said:
“When I’m complimented for my work, but you know what’s most rewarding for me? When people tell me I haven’t changed. That I am still myself.”
Deepika has turned producer with her upcoming film Chhapaak. Here she essays the role of Lakshmi Aggarwal, an acid attack survivor. The film is directed by the Raazi fame, Meghna Gulzar and also stars Vikrant Massey as her partner, who supports her through thick and thin. This is the first time that Meghna and Deepika will be working together.
Deepika was so excited that she even shared the look on her social media post:
Deepika confessed that Chhapaak has been an emotional journey. The film is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
