Who hasn’t enjoyed watching Shah Rukh Khan in movies? From TV to silver screen, the King Khan of Bollywood has entertained us now and again. We have seen him as a fauji, as a magician, as the God of romance, and we have loved him in every avatar.
On Saturday evening, the superstar received the ‘National Yash Chopra Memorial Award.’ Shah Rukh is the fourth recipient of the award; Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, and Rekha are the previous awardees. King Khan has worked on a number of Yash Chopra movies and has been a loved member of his extended family.
Calling the award the biggest honour of his life, Shah Rukh in his acceptance speech said:
“This is one of the most important evenings of my life. I am very emotional. Yash Chopra has single-handedly created my career. It is a strange circle that I am receiving an award, which honours him and is in his memory, and I am who I am because of what Yash Chopra made me do.”
He is truly the King of Bollywood!
