Amidst all the celebrations of the new year and making new memories, the mass molestation in Bangalore has come as a shock to pretty much everyone. What is even more shocking are the reactions of so many countrymen and women – Why are her knees showing? Maybe if she wore ‘decent’ clothes? She shouldn’t have drank alcohol! Who the hell parties out so bloody late? While we expect every year to be a little better, a little more tolerant, a lot more accepting, it seems we’re constantly taking ten steps backwards with vile reactions like these.
