Ali Fazal is back in limelight with Fukrey 2. But earlier this year, he was in news for his Hollywood debut as the lead in Victoria and Abdul. The film was definitely special to him, as the people in the film seem to have become close friends. Ali mostly attended events with Queen Victoria aka Judi Dench. Now we hear that Ali will felicitate Judi at a special in Santa Barbara.
Judi Dench will soon be honored with the annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Films this year at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Her Victoria & Abdul co-actor Ali Fazal will be joining three of Judi’s co-stars for a special tribute presentation for Judi. Not only that, Ali will also deliver a speech at the ceremony along with actors Jeff Bridges and Armie Hammer.
We can only imagine the happiness and pride Ali will feel to be part of an honorary night for the actress.
Elaborating on the same, Ali said,
“It was a world of a different experience to work with Judi Dench. She’s a powerhouse of a talent and I have learn so much from her. And now to be able to be on a platform honoring her is actually an honor for me. She’s rightfully deserving of this award and so much more. She is one of the most humble, hard-working, energetic people I have met who still has so much appetite to learn, and she has inspired me for years to come and I’m looking forward to seeing her again after two months in Santa Barbara.”
