Are you an Avengers fan? Are you waiting to see the film on the first day or by the first weekend? By any chance if the answer to the last question was ‘Yes’, and you haven’t booked it yet – don’t be disheartened, here’s some good news.
Today, major multiplex chains have received permission to screen Avengers: Endgame 24×7 throughout the country. This means that apart from night shows, the highly awaited Hollywood biggie will also be screened post 12 midnight.
NEWS FLASH: This is the first time such a thing is happening in India. Isn’t it just great!?
The laws in India do not allow for shows to be played beyond midnight. A few films have had such screenings in recent times including Balasaheb Thackeray’s biopic, Thackeray, which was screened at 4:15 am on the day of its release in Mumbai.
Talking about it some sources said:
“The permission came through today and we were informed of the same verbally. The permission, however, is given only for Avengers: Endgame. We are now sitting down to chalk the programming for these post-midnight shows. However, as of now, we are planning to have these shows only in A-tier cities and especially in IMAX and 4DX versions.”
A trade expert said:
“This will be a great move. It’s a win-win situation for all. A lot of moviegoers were disgruntled since they were eager to see Avengers: Endgame during the weekend but couldn’t book in time and the shows got sold out. Now they have one more chance. Despite the odd timings, these shows will have 100% occupancy out since the demand for the film is unprecedented.”
So all you Avengers fan out there, don’t waste another moment – book the ticket as soon as the booking for these shows open.
