After Christopher Nolan helmed Christian Bale in the Batman series, Ben Affleck took the torch and played the caped crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League.
As per a report by Hollywood portal Deadline, Ben Affleck will not do the dark knight’s tights this time. Ben too confirmed the same on Twitter by retweeting Deadline’s tweet. Along with the link he wrote:
“Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life”

Ben will not return as Bruce Wayne aka Batman for the Matt-Reeves-directed standalone Batman movie. The movie set to release on June 25, 2021, will revolve around the life of younger Bruce Wayne. A search is underway for a new Dark Knight.
The Batman will not be based on Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One comic which is one of Reeves’ favorites in the Caped Crusader canon. Talking about the upcoming Batman movie, Matt revealed a lot about the plot during his interview with Slash film. He said:
“Obviously, we’re not doing an origin tale or anything like that. We’re doing a story that is definitively Batman though, and trying to tell a story that’s emotional and yet is really about him being the world’s greatest detective and all the things that, for me, since I was a kid, made me love Batman.”
