The student union members of DU Women’s College has declared a ban on all the songs which derogate women. These songs won’t be played in college annual shows or festivals.
The decision was taken after the ‘Night Of Shame’ occurred in Bengaluru on the New Year’s Eve. This has sparked a national debate about the ongoing issue of women’s safety in India.
To overcome all the sexist comments, this might not be enough, but it can be a huge change, as media acts as a huge influence on the people.
