Naseeruddin Shah sets an example of selflessness on the sets of his upcoming movie ‘Hope Aur Hum’. The veteran actor left everyone in awe as he helped the little kid Virti Vaghani in delivering the dialogue of the film by teaching her some lessons he had learned during his theatre days.
Virti Vaghani, who will be seen playing the role of Tanu was facing difficulty in pronouncing a few words correctly. The director Sudip Bandyopadhyay elaborated on this saying
“Virti was anyway a little scared and the re-takes made her all the more nervous. Naseer sir came as a savior, he picked up a pencil from the set and asked Tanu to place it between her lips and under her tongue and repeat those dialogues loudly for some time. Magic happened and in one take all the dialogues came out perfectly.”
Everyone present on the set were completely caught off-guard by this action and Naseeruddin received a huge round of applause. Reacting to this, he said that it was an old trick that he used in theatre. The actor commented on the incident saying,
“Virti is so natural that she was unself-consciously gabbling her lines, so I tried this ‘Henry Higgins’ trick! It worked for her and that’s a credit to her not to me.”
Talking about her experience, Virti said,
“Working with Naseeruddin Shah was a great experience. I have never seen a superstar being so helpful towards their co-actors. I had speech problems and he helped me improve my speech.” Virti mentioned further how during the shoot, Naseer Sir gave her a book written on math and she wishes to work with him again and again.
Naseeruddin Shah has raised the bar of kindness with this gesture!
