Based on 1967 Indo-China war over Sikkim, Paltan is a real story from the chapters of our Indian history. Directed by JP Dutta, this movie revolves around soldiers, their family and our mother land.
Completing his war trilogy with Paltan, JP Dutta is known for movies like these. But Paltan failed to add yet another feather to this director’s hat. The story loosely revolves around Harshwardhan Rane, Gurmeet Chourdhary, Sonu Sood and Arjun Rampal, their backstories, sacrifices and bravery. This movie can be said to be like Shawshank Redemption as only the last 5 minutes are the exciting, plus good dialogues.
The cast did a good job but other aspects failed their efforts, shining bright amongst all were Harshvardhan Rane and Gurmeet Chowdhary. “Hindi-Chini bhai bhai” got the biggest laughs in the movie, especially the game of who gets the land was really ridiculous. It could’ve been shown in a different light.
