Feature Name: Papillon
Director: Michael Noer
Starring: Charlie Hunnam, Rami Malek
Based on Henri Charriere’s autobiography, Papillon is a remake of an original feature released in 1973. The film is about Papillon (Charlie Hunnam), a thief who’s sent to life imprisonment after being framed for murder.
He refuses to accept this and plans to escape prison, which seems like an insurmountable thing to do. The main problem of the film is its screenplay. It’s simply boring. Also, it seems to go on and on. Charlie Hunnam & Rami Malek’s performances keep you interested.
The film is average at best. We give it 2 buzzing bees.
