We love award shows! Apart from the made up moments, it’s a great place to get some fashion inspiration. However, last night at the Lux Golden Rose Awards was different. In terms of fashion, it was more disappointing than inspiring. Apart from a couple of looks, it seems that the rose-y background stole the show in the pictures. Here’s a list of the best and worst from last night
BEST – Katrina Kaif
The leading lady looked stunning in an emerald green gown. Instead of doing something complicated with her hair, she opted to keep it simple and classy. Definitely works for her!
BEST – Anushka Sharma
It might not be the most conventional look but she pulls it off really well. We love the hairdo she decided to go with. With a slit that is not too low and not high & those fancy earring, it makes for a likable look!
BEST – Kareena Kapoor Khan
She’s been sporting some of the best looks this year and this one is no less! The elegant gown with simplistic earrings is perfect for the occasion. Add the lovely pregnancy glow, and it makes for perfection!
BEST – Deepika Padukone
After the debacle of the overdone look for EMAs, this one is such a fresh change. Don’t you just love it when Deepika decides to keep her hair open? We’ve seen the thigh high slit of the gown before but she carries it off with such perfection!
BEST – Madhuri Dixit
So yes, we’ve seen Madhuri Dixit in looks like these before but she still pulls it off gracefully. Open hair with the red lips was great choice!
And that’s about it when it comes to the GOOD looks from last night. Hold your breath, none of the below looks have anything to impress!
WORST – Tamannah Bhatia
Too much frill. With a face and skin like that, you’d think Tamannah’s stylist would go for something refined but it looks like she chose a prom dress instead!
WORST – Jacqueline Fernandez
Not sure why but dress reminds us of the TV show Naagin. The hairstyle is little overdone and fails to compliment the dress.
WORST – Illeana D’Cruz
Maybe it’s the rose-y background but it too garden-y. If you cut the length till above her knee, it would make for a lovely brunch outfit but not an award show. The biege cloth (to cover some skin) is kind of ruining the whole thing. Would have been a lot sexier without that!
WORST – Malliaka Arora Khan
For starters, the dress has a really awkward fall. The string choker and the curls add to the confusion of the dress. It looks like the stylist couldn’t figure out what style to opt for and decided to do everything together. Maybe a pony-tail would have worked much better!
WORST – Pooja Hegde
Just no. The florescent green flowers are too over-powering and they’re hurting our eyes. Pooja’s got a great body and this dress is hiding it. Next time maybe go for a something more polished Ms. Hegde. Less is always more!
WORST – Shriya Sharan
I don’t even know what to say about this look. WHY would you wear that? I mean, maybe your stylist has awful taste but you don’t have to wear everything he/she recommends!
WORST – Taapsee Pannu
Okay. The material of the dress is a little tacky, the 70s hair-d0 with that hair pin is not in anymore. Or ever was. We love the flow of the dress but the material doesn’t do it the justice it deserves.
WORST – Aditi Rao Hyadri
The top half of the gown is really pretty but those frills looks an like amateur designer’s handiwork. Again, the material of the dress here is too tacky. The only thing that works for the look is that one little strand of her on Aditi’s face
WORST – Sridevi
We absolutely love Sridevi! She’s evergreen but the gown fails to impress. she’s got such great skin, we wish she’s gone for a darker shade – maybe navy blue or dark royal purple. This one just dulls her personality down.
AND THE WINNER OF WORST LOOKS – Ankita Shorey
Ankita, nothing about this look is right. The hair, the dress, the accessories, the make up – everything is working against you!
And if you thought we forgot the last time you wore the exact same thing. We didn’t. It was not impressive then, and is not impressive now!
So, which one is your fav or…not fav?
