Ryan Reynolds gave a heartfelt speech on receiving Entertainment Weekly’s ‘entertainer of the year’ at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday. After accepting the award from the jury, he gave a beautiful speech, which will touch your heart and make you go aww.
“Deadpool was an 11-year odyssey for me to get up here, and it resonated with a lot of people. The character had cancer and some of the people that this character resonated with were sick kids. I would like to dedicate this honor to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the SickKids Foundation of Toronto, two incredible organizations that do so much for so many kids in need.”
It was so beautiful to watch this Deadpool remembering his little friends Connor McGrath and Grace Bowen. He stated, “They didn’t lose the battle, but they did start a fight and it’s up to us to finish it.”
‘Man of the humor’ finished the speech by joking mentioning Emma Watson’s foresight- “kids needed a sex-positive superhero running around in a big red body condom.”
He thanked his wife, Blake Lively, and two daughters in the most funny way!
“I also want to thank my wife and, for no reason at all, I suppose my children.”
