Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Malaal Gets A New Release Date
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next production venture which will see him launch two new faces Sharmin Segal and Meezaan in Bollywood has got a new release date.
Malaal which was all set to release on 28th June is now postponed and will release on 5th of July. The film will be set in Mumbai and is directed by Mangesh Hadawale.
Meezaan is the son of Bollywood actor Jaaved Jafferi while Sharmin is Bhansali’s niece. The newcomers are being launced under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s home banner Bhansali Productions.
At the trailer launch the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali said this about the two newcomers,
“Four years back, Sharmin was assisting me on Bajirao Mastani. I had asked her to bring someone in for costume trials and she got Meezaan. The moment he entered I knew this was a star,”
The director further added,
“I told little Sharmin that maybe I’ll make her a star too but she has worked so hard to become an actor. I love the both of them.”
On the work front, last film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was Padmaavat starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, the director will be collaborating with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt for his next Inshallah.
It’s exciting the different areas that the director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali is exploring and would be interesting to see how the youngsters go about as they are set to be launched under such a big banner.
