After showing us the importance of hygiene and toilet in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shree Narayan Singh is all set to release his next, Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Divyenndu Sharma.
Today during an interview with Shahid, the actor was asked about how was it shooting the courtroom scene in Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Yami as she was well prepared for her role as a lawyer, the actor said:
“I was told not to do any preparation. I was told you should not look like a prepared lawyer because this is not your comfort zone because it had to look like from where has this guy come. It was a very clear kind of brief given to me and I, in fact, told Shree Sir that Yami is going to High Court and she is looking how the lawyers are doing. So he said this is what you don’t have to do because she is a qualified lawyer and you are not at all qualified. So you stay like this only. The more you will look out of place in that courtroom the more correct it is for the character. “
When asked how difficult was it to shoot the courtroom scene, Shahid said:
“It is very difficult because when you are doing courtroom dramas there are lots of dialogues and there are a lot of “Phacts and Phigures” which need to be remembered. It should sound candid and casual and at the same time, you need to move fast with it. Shree Sir shot big portions in one go.
We had 4 cameras, so he used to set up 4 cameras and shoot long chunks in one go as that makes it organic. So we used to actually learn up 7-8 pages of lines every day but honestly, most of the portions that I have done in the courtroom are funny and entertaining so I was enjoying myself.”
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by T-Series, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is all set to release on 21st September.
